Frequently asked questions
What do FII and DII mean?
FII (or FPI) is a foreign institutional investor — overseas funds buying and selling Indian shares. DII is a domestic institutional investor — Indian mutual funds, insurers and banks. Their daily net flow is a widely watched read on who is supporting or pressuring the market.
What does net value mean here?
Net is buy value minus sell value for that day, in rupees crore. A positive number means the group bought more than it sold that session; negative means it was a net seller.
How often is FII DII data updated?
Once NSE publishes the day's figures after the close, and the tool refreshes automatically. Figures for the current session appear the same evening.
Is this cash market or derivatives data?
Cash market. It is the provisional daily activity NSE publishes for institutional buying and selling in equities.
