What each tool actually returns

A tool page is a control panel until you run something. These are the results the tools produce — the real columns, in the real layout, so you can see whether a tool answers your question before you open it.

The figures on this page are illustrative. They are shaped like a real result so the columns mean something, but no row here is a record of anything that traded. Run a tool for real data — every number it returns comes from NSE's own published end-of-day files.

Open Interest Chain

Every strike in one expiry, calls on one side and puts on the other, with what each one holds and what the session did to it.

Example output from the Open Interest Chain. Illustrative figures, not market data.

The activity column is the four-quadrant reading of the premium change against the open-interest change — it classifies what the two numbers did together, nothing more.

Option Price Calculator

Every listed strike priced side by side, with what the position would cost per lot and what it becomes at the level you set.

Pricing is Black-Scholes on the stored spot and implied volatility. The cycle-end column is an estimate produced by the model, not a quote.

FII / DII Data

Published by the exchanges after the close and not revised afterwards, which is what makes a figure from two years ago directly comparable with last week's.

(Scanner) Candlestick Patterns

Every candlestick formation that completed on the stock inside your window, with how cleanly it formed and what the studied reversal rate for that pattern is.

Example output from the (Scanner) Candlestick Patterns. Illustrative figures, not market data.
Date Pattern Group Direction Strength Reversal rate
06 Jun 2025Bullish EngulfingTwo candlebullish8263%
28 May 2025HammerSingle candlebullish7460%
19 May 2025Evening StarThree candlebearish8872%
07 May 2025DojiSingle candleneutral61—

Direction is what the measured data says about the formation, which is not always what the textbook name implies. Strength describes the formation only — it is not a probability.

Example output

(Scanner) Multi-Timeframe Candlestick Patterns

Only the stocks where the monthly, weekly and daily candles all printed a formation in the same direction.

EXAMPLE BMorning StarBullish EngulfingHammer86
EXAMPLE CHammerMorning StarBullish Engulfing71

The list is short by construction: each extra timeframe that has to agree removes most of the candidates. Weekly and monthly candles are aggregated from stored daily history, so each carries that period's summed volume.

Example output

(Scanner) Multi-Timeframe Chart Patterns

Stocks carrying the same kind of chart shape on all three timeframes — head and shoulders, double tops, wedges, triangles, harmonics.

Stock Monthly Weekly Daily Fit
EXAMPLE AAscending TriangleFalling WedgeDouble Bottom77
EXAMPLE BDouble BottomAscending TriangleFalling Wedge84
EXAMPLE CFalling WedgeDouble BottomAscending Triangle69

Chart patterns take dozens of bars to draw, so a monthly one spans years. Fit scores how near the measured leg ratios sit to the textbook proportions — it measures the drawing, not the outcome.

Option Strategy Backtester

Every past expiry the strategy would have traded, replayed one cycle at a time, with what each one made or lost and the path it took.

MAE and MFE are the worst and best the position reached while open, reported because two cycles that closed at the same figure can have taken very different routes there.
